Hello 4B Families!
We're off to a great start this week! We successfully completed another MCAS practice assessment and should be all set to crush the test next week!
In Math we will move from adding and subtracting fractions to multiplying fractions by whole numbers. This should be a breeze for the kids since they did so well adding fractions with common denominators! After that, the kids will have time to work on their Feeding a Family project so they have something to share with you this Thursday.
In Reading we are diving back into our team research of topics that are important in schools. We'll review our note-taking strategies as well as the pros and cons of each. Then, the students will choose their favorite and use it to gather even more information for their persuasive presentations.
In Writing the students got to trade essays with a writing partner and give and receive feedback. After independently processing the feedback, students will finally have a chance to confer with one another (and teachers!) to help improve their writing.
In Science we are continuing to learn about weathering and erosion and their impact on the Earth's surface. Then we'll move on to talk about how different rocks are formed AND the different layers of the Earth!
