Hey 4B Families!
We're off to a great start this week, even after losing an hour of sleep!
In Math we are continuing our work with fractions greater than one. This week we will use a variety of strategies to compare fractions greater than one and mixed numbers. These strategies include drawing pictures, logical reasoning, and using number lines.
In Reading we are continuing our group research on topics that impact students in schools. Last week teams worked together to come up with keywords to search in the school databases and on Newsela.com. This week, students will find relevant articles and practice doing close readings while taking notes in different formats. Hopefully students will find the note-taking strategy that works best for them!
In Writing we are finishing up our work on our school dress code persuasive essays. Students are working hard not only to use strong arguments, but also to edit and revise to make their writing easy to understand and as convincing as possible.
In Science we are looking forward to our trip to the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, MA! There we will learn about what the earth is made of, and the processes that change the earth's surface over time. This will be an AWESOME introduction to our newest science unit!
