In MATH we have moved onto our new unit taking a deeper look at multiplication and division. We're examining the relationship between multiplication and division and practicing different strategies for solving multi-digit problems.
In SCIENCE we began our first Social Studies unit on maps by practicing reading/interpreting different elements of maps. We have moved on to using our map skills to label maps of North America
In READING students are noticing complexities in characters, supporting claims with specific evidence from the text, and beginning to look at other elements of the story such as setting and author's craft.
In WRITING students are using their skills analyzing characters to create their own realistic but complex characters in fictional narratives. We will soon begin drafting these fictional narratives using story arcs to ensure students are including all important elements of a story.
